Tatort had an extremely unpleasant suspect this week, the teenage Florian, a snivelling, snotty, withdrawn, unfriendly, mentally ill, depressed and exploited 'muse'. The most unbelievable part of Tatort this week was the lengths to which his supporters were prepared to go to protect him. They obviously know an unconditional love I can only dream of feeling.
Three detectives played this game. The commissioner whose area this actually was has been on Tatort before, although I'm not sure from this region. She played an utterly reserved, cool and correct detective, whose presence was a welcome relief in contrast to Florian, the suspect, and I fell a little bit in love with her. Then there was a police officer from Hamburg, who was 'just visiting' and 'just happened to know Florian's family' and 'just happened to get all the clues to solve the murder.' The only thing remarkable about him was that his name was Wotan, although I don't remember if that was his character's name or his IRL. Actually, he didn't gather all the clues, it was the Grace Kelly he'd summoned from Hamburg, Fr. Lorenz. Also cool, calm, and clipped, but young and with long blond hair (the other woman detective a had short brown hair, glasses, and was forty plus), this woman is unusual in the Tatort galaxy because she looked like she stepped out of a Boden catalog: I think she even had Hunter wellies. Fr. Lorenz is 'fragrant' and seemed very British, except, of course, for the very German correctness. In fact, there was the titillating scene of two fully clothed commissioners sharing a bed yet addressing each other as 'Sie' -- probably very erotic for Germans.
I liked the scenery. Beaches, waving grass. Were we around Rostock? As usual, Mom called during the denouement. That's about the time church is getting out on the west coast.
